Finesse in Creating and Sharing Content
Sally O’Dowd worked in Paris from 2010-2011 as the global head of content strategy and social media for MSLGROUP, the 22-country communications, PR and events network of Publicis Groupe, the third-largest digital advertising company in the world.
Objective
MSLGROUP’s Critical Conversations blog and special reports educate clients on how to engage consumers in a complex world driven by digital technology and globalization.
Strategy
Sally first identified the issues most important to account teams and their clients via a global survey. Strategies for using social media and corporate social responsibility to improve brand reputation and drive purchase were top of the list.
- Her first assignment was Social Predictions for the Conversation Age: 2011, an e-zine providing actionable ideas for clients eager to build their social chops.
- Likewise, she worked with two Paris colleagues to produce MSLGROUP Guide to Facebook Updates for Marketers and Bloggers.
- Reports on global business included a Q and A with executives who analyzed the qualities of the World’s Most Admired Companies, as identified by Fortune; and The MSLGROUP BRICS Blog Series exploring the connection between public policy and a country’s image and reputation.
Result
MSLGROUP’s global Facebook page was ranked first among global PR networks in Friends in High Places: Top 10 Global PR Facebook Pages, a study by CommPRO.Biz, Marketwire and Sysomos.
“Our favorite part about MSLGROUP’s Facebook page is its consistent content platform,” said the study’s authors. “The group shares it point of view often via its blog here. It frequently features other people. And the group has created an e-magazine to teach its customers about Facebook. For its finesse in creating and sharing content, we give MSLGROUP a thumbs-up.”
